The Novotel is definitely my go-to on the Gold Coast, I've stayed probably a dozen times and never been disappointed. The central location and stunning views can't be beaten, and my Accor loyalty status was well recognized. The room was clean and quiet, with comfortable bed and everything you'd expect from Novotel. I enjoyed the plentiful breakfast buffet as well as the lobby bar/cafe. 2 minor points for improvement... The room had a strong bleach smell when entering the first time... After letting it air for a while by opening the balcony door this dissipated. Secondly I prepaid on the Accor website, but apparently they had a problem processing it, so I needed to pay at the hotel, and they charged the credit card surcharge which should have not applied given the rate I'd booked...It wasn't my fault or choice for them not to take the prepayment... This is the second time the credit card issue occurred...seems they don't make changes based on the feedback 🤔 That said, I've already booked to stay again and this time I used Visa rather than Amex, and the prepayment (without any surcharge!) was processed successfully 🙂

Coffee machine in room broken, breakfast area old and dated. More like a bus stop eatery.
