Rock Climbing Adventures in Adelaide

Do you feel a thrill when you're clinging to a rock face high off the ground? Some people consider this to be a nightmarish experience, but others find it absolutely exhilarating. If you're a member of the latter camp, then a trip to Adelaide should definitely be in your future. This city is an cliffhanger's paradise, with both indoor and outdoor climbing arenas to satisfy your need for height. Here are some of the best places to visit in the city:

Indoor climbing

If you enjoy rock climbing gyms, you should definitely head to Vertical Reality Climbing on North East Road in Holden Hill. With 800 square metres of climbing space, you can scale the walls here to your heart's content.

The climbing grades range from three to 29 here, so whether you're an avid climber or a novice, you'll be able to enjoy yourself at this fantastic facility. You can opt for abseiling or bouldering, and there's also a hangboard to try out.

Outdoor climbing

For those who prefer fresh air during their climbs, there's no better place to visit than Morialta Conservation park, arguably Adelaide's most popular spot for outdoor rock climbing.

Located in Adelaide Hills, Morialta is a gorgeous public park that's only about a 20-minute drive from the city centre. There are a number of challenging courses here, some of which have bolts to make it easier for you to scale the rock faces.

If there are members of your party who don't enjoy climbing, this is still a great place to visit. With lots of hiking trails and gorgeous waterfalls, this destination is ideal for anyone who enjoys being in the great outdoors.
