- Very decent inner city hotelWe've used this Hotel several times and are Accor members. Membership gets you complimentary Wifi but I think WiFi should be included in all hotels and… in fact I often refuse to pay for it or choose another hotel. I digress. This Novotel (Caution there are 3 Novotels all close by each other in the Darling Harbor area) is discreet and hidden away on little known Thomas St, but is very convenient to Central Station (Access by underpass), Broadway, and very close to Haymarket, Paddy's Market, China Town and Darling Harbor. There is a Woolworth's Supermarket nearby and several dozen small eateries within 200m of the Hotel Reception is patchy from extremely friendly and helpful to very cool and slow. A couple of the gents who've been there a while are exceptional and offer a 5 star service. The Breakfast is very good with a decent selection of fruit, juices, pastries and hot dishes as well as Barista Coffee. Usually included in the room rate but check. The rooms are fine. Its' last reno is now a way back and it could do with an upgrade and maybe a tart up as the place lacks any flair, but saying that, its always been clean and sufficient. The bathrooms are a little small, and there aren't generally any views of note. If you plan to be out and about and use the place to sleep, you cant go wrong. It's also one of the few hotels that offers rooms with 2 Queen beds, so for families of 4, this place should be on your hit list. They have decent parking in the same building with a separate lift system so you catch the lifts down from the car park, walk through the side entrance into the lobby. Parking rates are reasonable (~$30 / day while most inner city hotels charge $50+). We will continue to use this Hotel.
- Ok but not greatThis is an ok hotel. It is predictable in its appearance, amenities and service. It is a little tired in decor and finish but clean. One small but annoying… and somewhat out-dated feature was the requirement to pay extra for wi-fi! Surely this could be included in the reasonably pricey room costs? Another annoyance was the non-steam iron and the ironing board that continuously collapsed. Small issues but important when considering overall stay.
- Great service, modern and clean roomLoved the room, clean and modern. This was my second time here and it was much better, the check in was smooth and didn't take long as last time. We were… also chosen as guests of the day and got some goodies- welcome chockies and strawberries, a simple but welcome gesture. We will surely go back if we're ever flying to Sydney again! Thanks a bunch guys!
