What to do in Strathfield
Begin your Strathfield trip by visiting the local, and incredibly popular, AMF Bowling North Strathfield, just six minutes from the area's centre. With a date, a group of friends or the whole family, AMF Bowling has plenty of fun things to do. Grab a few games of tenpin bowling, gear up and shoot your way through the M9 Laser Skirmish arena, try your luck on one of the many arcade games and relax in the cafe or bar.
An easy nine-minute drive just northeast of Strathfield is the picturesque and lovely Canada Bay, with its sparkling azure water and plethora of walking tracks. These tracks range in length but they all offer their own unique perspective of the Canada Bay inlets and plenty of picnic stops. Also nearby is the Canada Bay Museum, just five minutes west. This fascinating place was opened in 2009 and showcases the local history from the years 1915 up to the 1970s. It includes World War One memorabilia, local items like the Victor Mower - which marked the birth of the modern lawnmower - and plenty of other curios and intrigues.
For the best shopping in Strathfield then drive to the local DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) Homebush store to peruse through a staggering amount of popular brands. Some of the biggest names in Australia have a presence here offering their factory goods for that great outlet discount. These brands include Billabong, Glassons, Jay Jays, Peter Alexander, Sunglass Hut and hundreds more.
