Perth CBD accommodation

Perth may be distant from the other Australian capitals, but it certainly doesn't need to be any closer. Everything you could want in a great city is contained within Perth, and its CBD is as vibrant and buzzing, if not more so, than anywhere else.

You'll have no trouble getting from the airport to your inner-city hotel, either, as Perth Airport is barely 15 kilometres away - one of the few places in the world where you can get off your plane practically in the CBD already. As if that weren't enough, alongside the excellent range of attractions located within the centre itself, Perth's selection of world-class beaches are also barely 15 minutes away.

What to do in Perth's CBD

Before you go anywhere in Perth's CBD, you should check out the local area on a tour first. The closeness of everything makes walking a breeze, but if you want to see a little nature as well then book a tour with Segway Tours WA. Wander down to the Swan River and you can get on board your own exciting segway to explore the riverfront area, hearing tales about its history from the knowledgeable guides. You can also take a tour down toward Kings Park, the largest inner-city park in the world, if native bushland takes your fancy.

Make sure to pop across the river and visit Perth Zoo, too. Titled 'the best small zoo in Australia' on its website, Perth Zoo is open every day of the year, and has not had a day of being shut since it opened in 1998. There are numerous adorable animals to spot here, including the komodo dragon, Tasmanian devil and pygmy marmosets. Closer encounters are also available on request, as are zoo keeping experiences.

Other inner-city locations you can't miss are Scitech, a fascinating science attraction with plenty of fun exhibitions; His Majesty's Theatre, a historic theatre building first opened in 1904; and the Perth branch of the Western Australian museum.

You'll be spoilt for restaurant choice when you're exploring the CBD, as there are countless world-class establishments from which to choose. Balthazar Bar and Restaurant and Nao Japanese Restaurant are both popular choices, as are Helvetica and Palsaik Namoo.
