- Great spot to rewind for business or personal staysOver the last few years I have stayed at the Novotel a few times a a year. The location on Newcastle Beach allows an early morning walk or swim; or to… wind down at the end of a busy day. In Feb 16, prior to my last stay, I advised the hotel that due to my upcoming retirement, that this would be my last work stay. I was given a room upgrade, a welcome bottle of wine and a Novotel towel were left as gifts in my room and a cheese platter placed in the fridge. Due to some work farewells, I had some bunches of flowers and staff kindly found large vases for them and looked after them after I had checked out so I could get a bucket to take them home. I was made feel a very special and welcome guest - a great way to say farewell to Newcastle work trips.
- Great locationI recently stayed here for one night. The staff at check in/check out were friendly and professional. My harbour view room on level 5 was clean and had… a nice view of Nobbys Head Lighthouse. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. It is only a minute's walk to the beach and there are a number of cafes and restaurants nearby. (I had a fantastic cocktail and snack at Bar Petite next door to the hotel). It is an easy walk to the foreshore and the Hunter Street Mall. Breakfast was included in my room rate. Next time I would probably visit a local cafe instead. I had breakfast about 9am; most of the tables needed to be cleared and the buffet was fairly depleted. A staff member told me that it was due to a very busy morning service, but no effort was made to replenish the buffet during the time that I was there. Overall though, I was happy with my stay and would return.
