- For a budget hotel - not too bad at allWe chose this hotel purely on its location - it's just below kings cross and a short walk from the CBD and St Vincent's hospital. We chose an option for… 3 people (bed plus sofa bed). The rooms are small but clean and comfortable with a modern decor. It's absolutely fine for one or two people if all you want to do is have a place to sleep but when you add the third person it's quite cramped. The bathroom too,is tiny - maybe 6 feet square and include toilet shower and basin. When you deploy the sofa bed it sits flush against the main bed and only leaves maybe 30cm of space between the door of the bed and the wall. The main bed is very comfortable but the sofa bed is hopeless and SO uncomfortable- it's an inner Spring mattress but the springs are just covered with thin material so you feel every spring all night. There is no wardrobe only hanging hooks. Tea and coffee is provide in the room and the a/c works well. Even though you are on William street the rooms are fairly quite. Staff are polite and helpful and the rooms are serviced everyday. A basic breakfast for around $12 is also available. There are free newspapers and free wifi. So this is a budget hotel - it would be unfair to compare it to 5 star hotels. For the price you expect the rooms to be smaller and the facilities basic - but other than the dodgy mattress on the sofa bed this place exceeded my expectations. Clean, comfortable quiet accomodation in the heart of the city - absolutely fine for one or two travellers - pretty tight with more than that. Well worth a look.
