  • Great Hotel, Excellent Location
Stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment. Rooms were well-appointed and spotless. Only minor negative was that there was only one hairdryer in a 2-bathroom apartment and it wasn't in the main bathroom! Another negative was that they seem to have the world's most uncomfortable pillows. Apart from those two small issues everything else is first class. The staff is very friendly and most helpful.
  • Nice, but not special
For the price, the Sebel Docklands is a good place to stay, with lovely comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, with lots of televisions, in an attractive, though very quiet part of Melbourne. The waterfront is great, but I missed the bustle of life around me and there's no bar (it's an apartment hotel) so there's nowhere to hang out if you're in town on business on your own, and there's only really restaurants nearby so...well, next time, I'd choose a place more centrally located, with a bit of life and atmosphere inside and out!
  • A different side of Melbourne
I am not sure why I have never been on the Docklands side of Etihad stadium, but it is really lovely. The Sebel is a beacon in purple, the desk staff are fairly efficient, the rooms are clean and spacious, as befitting apartments. I had a view of the rear turning circle but there would be lovely views from higher up. Pros: close to Etihad, close to the free circle tram line, good selection of restaurants etc. Cons: I was provided with a welcome letter telling me there was free wifi with a password- this did not work. However the assistant manager fixed the problem, emailed me a new password that worked perfectly. So not really a con. Summary: best for couples/families The ability to bring food and use the in room kitchen is always something I looked for when traveling with my family. It is a little rare to find a well fitted out apartment with kitchen but this certainly fits the bill.
