  • Great View - Not much Else
I booked three stays with the Sebel Coolangatta before staying there. I figured it's part of the Sebel and it in a good location (I have to travel to Byron Daily for work) so should be amazing. First of all I am writing this review as a Business Traveler and my view is based on this. Had this been a personal or recreational trip then perhaps it would be slightly kinda. You can not go past the views of this hotel. It is ideally located and it is amazing. I have added some stunning shots from my room. The Sebel Coolangatta are serviced apartments with an identity crisis. They do not feel like they are part of the Sebel Brand. They feel like owner occupied serviced apartments trying to use the Sebel and Accor name to branch out. Nothing about this place feels like they belong in the Accor family. Service is non existent. The hours of operation are more suited to a bank. The units are a decent sized although not that well equipped. For example you would expect a serviced apartment with an oven and fry pan to also have an egg flip - no. It is nice to have the extra space and the ability to cook but personally the abscence of daily cleaning is not worth it. The units are not at an acceptable standard of cleanliness. I have stayed in 3 units and each of them have been OK but not of hotel standard. Some things have been not acceptable like stained sheets and a common theme appears to be dirty bathrooms. With Serviced apartments you really are at the luck of the draw as to what is available at the time. If you are an Accor Platinum member do not expect any special service you are nothing to them. You will not even get a bottle of water.y u o will get a voucher for the local surf club as well as a list of rules that take up 2 pages. Make sure you take the rubbish out!!! Again this place is probably OK if you want a family vacation on the beach but otherwise give it a miss. I certainly ill not be back and would have cancelled my 2nd and 3rd trips had I not prepaid. The owners who live in the building will not make you feel welcome and will have eyes on you constantly so make sure you follow the rules. The Wifi is terrible and consistently drops out. Speed test Download 0.18MBPS Upload 0.28Mbps Room from experience on level 7 or below are noisy with the traffic and drunk people. Hopefully you get a room above this. Its a shame you cant leave door open to hear the waves. I know this review is slightly harsh but if it was a non branded serviced apartments booking them i might not have been so bad, but this is not up to the Sebel or Accor name. I am really surprised Sebel and Accor have allowed this, I will not return. I would rather drive the extra 20 minutes and stay at the Mercure Gold Coast.
  • Great place to stay in a self catering context
This was a very pleasant property with welcoming staff. The parking facilities were guaranteed and part of the deal. The one bedroom apartment had great kitchen, bathroom and laundry appliances to make everything easy - e.g. Twin sinks in kitchen, twin basins in bathroom, walk in shower. Spacious deck with beautiful view overlooking beach and park was furnished with a round table for 4+ with extra chairs supplied. The location was excellent with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets all within walking distance. The expected technology was provided with free wifi and Satellite television. When anything went awry the staff quickly fixed the problem e.g. Light bulb requiring replacement. Common areas were well maintained. The pool and gym facilities were excellent and not crowded on our visit.
  • A view to die for ...
My husband and I spent a week in room 1405. It has the most incredible view. The room was spacious, comfortable and fully contained. We had full use of the gym, spa, sauna, and pool. It is close to heaps of great restaurants, and shops. We have finished our holiday feeling refreshed and energised. We have stayed here once before and loved it then, will definitely return
