- Great Location and Fantastic Value for MoneyThe Ibis Styles is located close to the Esplanade and the heart of Cairns Shopping precinct. Great for walking to all the locations such as the wharf for… trips out to the Reef or Fitzroy Island. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bathrooms are modern. The staff were most helpful and friendly. I would recommend this as a good place to stay.
- Wouldn't stay longer than a nightFirst of all I must say that the staff were brilliant, so friendly, welcoming and just generally happy people, we had no issues while we there. It is in… a fairly good location, not too far from the boardwalk. We were only staying one night before going out on the reef and for that it was fine. However, we were on the ground floor with a view of a concrete wall around a tiny little patio with space for two plastic chairs. The wall blocked all the light and the room felt terribly dark (quite a feat when it's 30 degrees and sunshine!) and depressing. You really wouldn't want to sit out there, right by the road. The room was clean, but just felt very tired and dark. The pool was pretty small and we didn't fancy it. Perhaps if you had a view over the pool it would be better. After our reef trip we stayed in a different hotel for a similar price and it was so much nicer. But if you just need a place to sleep and not hang around in, it's not too bad, but nicer places around.
