- Sofitel still not sold to return but overall was good.Firstly I will say that the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect when staying in Brisbane if on work, relaxation or looking for an escape. Given… its former better days of the Sheraton Brand the hotel itself is clearly trying to hold its own in the tight held 4-5 star bracket although there is room for improvement. The hotel is beautiful and brilliantly laid out, easy to navigate and with all the amenities one needs to relax and soak up the Queensland sunshine. Upon our arrival we were greeted, checked in and given information promptly all with a smile which in today's busy world means a lot to the weary traveller. Our room was located next to the lift shaft which we kindly asked to be moved and occurred without hesitation by the front desk manager. After a day of business and catching up with family we arrived back to the hotel and spoke with Cecilia at the concierge desk about further transport around Brisbane whom was brilliant, friendly and extremely helpful without any hint of being held up given our questions. We then ventured to Cuvée bar for a drink and after numerous attempts to gain a menu from the various floor staff who continually focused on larger groups within the area we approached the bar and ordered for ourselves. The second night we decided again to relax after a long day and yet again we found ourselves being ignored by the Cuvée floor staff yet head straight for the larger groups whom had arrived after us. We understand after many years of staying in hotels of this calibre of rating that the rewards or tips for floor staff may be greater given the volume of people seated at one location however we would like you to pass onto your staff member Valenite that this is not what a 5 star service looks like, every guest is just as important. Next time visiting for business will certainly have Sofitel Brisbane on my list just not at the top.
- 5 star, great locationIf you are looking for a top notch hotel in Brisbane CBD the Sofitel ticks several boxes. Located within walking distance of Queen St Mall and Southbank,… close to public transport for sporting events, it's location makes enjoying Brisbane city a breeze. The rooms are well appointed with free wifi, a very comfortable bed, robes and decent bathroom amenities. Flat screen tv, foxtel and mini bar as would be expected. Parking is at a discounted rate for guests ($47 overnight).
- Sofitel High Tea - Delicious!Recently a very dear friend and I had enjoyed High Tea in the Club Sofitel Lounge on the 30th floor of the hotel where we indulged (or should that be over… indulged!) in a delicious culinary delight of sandwiches, scones and desserts accompanied by coffee and tea. As we had the lounge to ourselves we were free to enjoy the beautiful view and to take our time enjoying all the delights the High Tea had to offer. A pleasurable afternoon well worth it.
