Bondi Beach accommodation
Bondi Beach is the most popular stretch of coastline in Sydney (and arguably in Australia). Clean, gorgeous sand beaches, turquoise-blue water and unimpeded views of the Pacific Ocean help make Bondi the cultural icon it has become. Sydneysiders flock to Bondi to soak up the sun, people-watch, enjoy early-morning runs, attend events, surf and simply relax. This beautiful beach has it all and more, and you can explore it all from the comfort of hotels in Bondi Beach.
The coastline itself is situated where the Sydney metro area's east side meets the Pacific Ocean. Bondi is also the name of the suburban town in which the beach is located. Bondi has a culture all its own, offering a variety of shops, cafe, pubs and other establishments. The town is as laid-back and relaxed as the beach is beautiful and iconic, so you can't go wrong spending your holiday in Bondi Beach accommodation.
Weather in Bondi Beach
Sydney is known for its mild winters and warm summers, and Bondi Beach is no exception. Even in the dead of winter (for the Southern Hemisphere, that's July), the area's daytime highs reach about 16-17 degrees Celsius. In the summertime, things start getting hot, hot, hot at Bondi, with temperatures reaching up to 26 degrees.
Things to do
Of course, most people simply choose to lay out and enjoy the Australian sunshine when they visit Bondi. If you don't consider yourself a beach bum, however, there are still a multitude of things to do.
Have you always wanted to take up surfing? Take a lesson on how to catch a wave alongside other enthusiastic students. The best surfing conditions hit Bondi from June to August, the pinnacle of the region's surf season.
The neighourhood is also home to a skate park, a pavillion, volleyball nets and various other activities. Some of the best action happens right on the beach, and there's an activity here to suit every interest.
Of course, you could always leave the water and head up to the street for an enjoyable day of shopping and dining. Beach-view bars and restaurants line the street, providing a perfect lunch break opportunity for thirsty and hungry beach-goers.
Not in the mood to lay out on the beach? If you prefer more active ways to entertain yourself, consider taking the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. This 6km trail winds its way from north Bondi through Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee and Maroubra. Take in panoramic views of the Pacific as you get a little exercise.
