  • Not the 4* as listed
The hotel staff are incredibly lovely and go out of their way to help, however they are restricted from delivering the 4* rated service due to the poor hotel set up. Just a few of the irritations: - I would expect WiFi to be free in a 4* hotel, but no, here it costs $24 AUD a day. - Every room has a fridge containing 2 chilled wine glasses and nothing else. Clearly a bottle of water in your room is considered a luxury here, when it is provided as standard in the most basic of hotels around the world. - They have a restaurant and bar area, yet I have not found it open to cater for the earlier trips (which the hotel are happy to book on your behalf) or open past 10pm to cater for a chilled drink for residents or a relaxed nightcap. The hotel is nice and comfortable, and the staff try their best, but the facilities set up is somewhat (a country mile +) lacking from the listed star rating. Shame.
  • Perfect City Location
You looking for a hotel in the centre of Adelaide? Look no further. The Ibis is a VERY short stroll to Rundle Mall and from there, Adelaide Oval or any of the venues for the many festivals. The rooms are modern and very clean, with a really affordable tariff ($114 for the two of us recently). The bar has a great choice of beers and wine, with happy hour and great menu if you don't feel like venturing far. Throughly given two thumbs up!
  • Impressive
I am not a great lover of the IBIS model, and IBIS hotels because of their small footprint & limited facilities. I chose to stay at this IBIS given the great TripAdvisor feedback, & great location. I was visiting Adelaide to attend my son's graduation for 6 days, 5 nights. IBIS was perfectly located, and this IBIS is basic, but the facilities they did have were extremely functional. I used their gym multiple times, and found the easy access to the river torrens trails allowed for other fitness options with a variety of run, jog & walk options. The gym was modern & functional. We used the bar/restaurant on the 1st floor for coffee & snacks on several occasions late night when returning after local shops close, and it was nice, both in what was available, and the quality of service provided. The room itself was small but efficient, with a great flat screen TV, plenty of desk top space, and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was reasonable, functional, with a nice shower. We did have an issue with a power out on several power sockets on one day, and room service and reception worked seamlessly to get it fixed. The car park was required, and IBIS have an arrangement with several nearby Public car parks. Staff were very helpful in getting me access to the car park, but it is a little convoluted. Because i used the closest car park, and because it closed around 11pm each day, there were nights when a staff member had to walk 100-200 meters down the road, to swipe me into the car park. Arkward, but it worked. The real strength of this hotel is the proximity to the city centers shopping mall (rundle mall). You step out of the hotel and within 20-30 meters, you are in one of Adelaide's many arcades feeding into main shopping district. This was a big big plus. The downside of this big plus, is the unsavory people walking the street late at night near to the hotel (Aggressive revelers celebrating at local beverage spots)... Not too bad, but notable late at night. There are several supermarkets not far from the hotel, also very useful. The staff were also a delight, whether the staff at reception, at the bar/restaurant, or the staff servicing the rooms, always pleasant, smiling & helpfull. And this hotel has very competitive pricing, an additional bonus. I have no doubt i will be staying here again on future visits to Adelaide.
